We’re bursting with excitement for the new school year, and the Sierra PTO wants to send out our first (of many to come!) batch of thanks to all of our wonderful hard-working volunteers who have been taking time away from their families during the summer break to get us ready for Meet the Teacher and beyond. Many of these folks are new committee chairs as well, so be sure to stop them in the hallways to say thanks for their hard work for our school!
Beth Hare – Beth is returning as our Volunteer Coordinator and gave us another warm and smiling face for our PTO table at Meet the Teacher.
Kristin Ito – Another familiar and friendly face, Kristin is returning as this year’s Read-a-Thon chair and also graciously volunteered to help us at Meet the Teacher.
Gina Jones – Our returning Retail Rebates chair, Gina manned the Retail Rebates table at Meet the Teacher and is the person responsible for coordinating all of our retail fundraising programs except for Coke Rewards. Gina put in a great deal of work this summer contacting and re-registering our school for the many retail programs we benefit from. Be sure to visit our fundraising page to find out all about these NO COST fundraisers for our school. Thank you, Gina!
Vickie Ricks – Vickie returns as our Student Directory chair and has already started planning the content and layout of this year’s directory (formerly known as the Buzz Book). She manned our Student Directory table at Meet the Teacher.
Wendy Sanuik – Wendy returns as our Coke Rewards chair. She manned the Coke Rewards table at Meet the Teacher and is full of knowledge on what Coke products are available and eligible for rewards for our school!
Sarah Padilla – This young lady lent us a super hand at the super busy Spiritwear sales table at Meet the Teacher night. Thank you, Sarah!
Brittny Strubbe – Brittny is our new Hospitality chair and has already done her fair share coordinating the welcome back breakfast for teachers earlier this week. Brittny showed up at the crack of dawn to set up a hearty meal for our teachers to enjoy as they began work of setting up their classrooms.
Patti Tollefson – Patti is a longtime PTO veteran and familiar face at the school. She helped man the hoppin’ Spiritwear sales table at Meet the Teacher and helped bring a smile to everyone who stopped by.
Kimberly Tussing – We’re so glad Kimberly has decided to return for her second stint as Yearbook chair. She has been working through the summer communicating with our yearbook vendor and making plans for the layout of the new book. Kimberly oversaw our transition from softcover to hardback books and could be seen madly taking orders for yearbooks at the Meet the Teacher.
Chris Zaenglein – Chris is our new Spiritwear chair and manned the Spiritwear table during Meet the Teacher, but her work started long before that during the hot summer months right after the school year ended. She researched vendors for shirts, totes, and water bottles, coordinated designs, calculated costs, and weighed the opinions of many to keep the Spiritwear line simple and affordable for the year.
