Governing Board Election:

The five members of Kyrene School District’s Governing Board play a critical role in the formulation and approval of policies which guide the operation of the District. Governing Board members are publicly elected volunteers and the upcoming election is on Tuesday, November 4, 2014. Kyrene has two open Governing Board seats with four candidates running. Keep a look out in local media for upcoming Board Candidate forums.

Taste of Kyrene

The Taste of Kyrene will be held on February 20, 2015. This year they are partnering with Main Event, and the first 1000 opportunity drawing tickets told will receive a $10 coupon to use at Main Event. Half of the ticket price goes back to the school if sold by PTOs.   More information about this and other Foundation events can be found on the Foundation website.

Front Office Modifications

Small group discussions were held about the school front office redesign that has been completed at 7 of our schools, and about the possibility of streamlining the sign-in process for frequent school visitors. The feedback will be taken to the Safety and Security Committee for review and a response will be brought back to Parent Superintendent Council.
